Release notes

What changed in each version of the Syntic Code CLI. Inside a session, /release-notes shows the same list for the version you run.

The first public release has not shipped yet. Entries start with version 0.1.0.

0.1.0

  • A styled folder-trust question at start shows the full path; No, exit is the default. Trusted folders start in auto-edit when you have not chosen a mode; your home folder always asks.
  • Each permission mode has one name everywhere: default, auto-edit, plan, auto, bypass, don’t-ask.
  • A call changed by a hook or by you in the prompt is checked again before it runs, and so is a “yes” given while the mode or rules changed.
  • git push, cluster, infrastructure, cloud, production-deploy and remote-database commands never run unattended in auto mode, and their prompt names the target.
  • After a bigger change, a read-only checker reviews the work and ends the turn with a Checked: line (verification setting).
  • New commands: /subtask, /verify, /run, /update-config, /fewer-permission-prompts, /auto-mode-setup, /import; /reload-skills and /focus are listed in the menu. New aliases: /new, /reset, /checkup, /proactive, /allowed-tools, /continue, /undo, /routines, /bashes.
  • New flags: -r (short for --resume, opens the picker in the app), --background, --ax-screen-reader, --ide, --autocompact, --advisor, --permission-prompts.
  • /cost labels each figure reported, calculated or estimated and shows cost per model and per agent; sub-agents can have a spend cap (maxBudgetUsd).
  • Sub-agents started together run in parallel, and their reports are checked against what they really did.
  • Compaction keeps a task-state block (objective, branch, modified files, tests, next steps) built from the working tree.
  • After a crash, a resumed session marks an interrupted call as “Outcome unknown” instead of guessing, and never re-runs it. /doctor lists damaged saved sessions.
  • Inline view: drag past the top edge to keep selecting while the transcript scrolls; selected text is dark on green.
  • Sessions on the same computer can message each other with @session-…, and agents can use ListAgents and SendMessage to reach them.
  • The /model list comes from the Syntic platform; models outside your plan show the plan they need.
  • The toolSearch setting turns on-demand tool loading off for chosen models.
  • Run a whole session as one of your custom agents with --agent <name>, or define agents for a single run with --agents.
  • Limit the built-in tools for a run with --tools (pass "" for none), and block some with --disallowed-tools.
  • Start in a git worktree of its own with --worktree [name]; worktrees live under .syntic/worktrees.
  • /branch duplicates the conversation into a fresh session; the original stays as it was.
  • Change one setting without opening the panel: /config key=value.
  • /feedback saves a report on your computer and shows where. Nothing is uploaded.
  • /rewind can restore files as well as the conversation.
  • /login works inside a running session, and /hooks lists every hook that is set up.
  • A message you type while the agent works is delivered at its next step.
  • Ask a headless run for output that fits a JSON Schema with --json-schema.
  • MCP servers start side by side, and a server that never answers no longer blocks startup.
  • Agents in .syntic/agents can be called by name.
